Building Up Muscles The Arnold Schwarzenegger Way

One of the secrets to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bodybuilding style is the way he worked out every muscle group. He trained continuously at a very high intensity. He overworked the different muscle groups in his body and regularly shocked his muscles by adding more weight or doing more repetitions while having lesser breaks between sets. He was also doing unfamiliar exercises in no particular order of execution all while doing different intensity techniques.

arnold schwarzeneggerOne of the reasons he was a top choice for the film Terminator was that Arnold had mastered what can be called a robotic technique, like his character in the film. Fixed in his position he would go on to complete his sets in the same way every time. The training form was perfect, accurate and highly effective. For starters, he advised to perform this with their backs on the wall.

Handgrip is also important. This is one of the mistakes some starters usually commit. It happens when one starts a curling movement with a bended wrist, and then curls it up before the intensity hits the biceps. The biceps will not get the needed stress because it is absorbed by the forearm. The Terminator star also included supersets in his training to maximize his time effectively. He did it by compounding the intensity the muscle group received, pushing his body to the limit.

He also had a strict muscle building diet plan that he followed religiously. Every meal had a purpose and he ate a huge amount of healthy calories. High protein meals meant he could build huge muscles but also manage to keep of any excess fat.

This Arnold Schwarzenegger bodybuilding style may be hard to do especially for first time bodybuilders, but it is one of the most effective ways to develop specific muscle groups.

Be Consistant with a Daily Fitness Program

Consistancy is one of the main keys to losing weight. If you can stay consistent in your training and nutrition habits then you will find it easier to lose weight. So a daily fitness program that is followed every single day is a great way to achieve this.

No matter how much weight you want to lose, you can do it more effectively by planning a daily schedule of how to reach your goals. It can be quite daunting to start your journey with a goal of losing 30 pounds. So don’t do that. Instead set a goal of losing one pound a week. This is much easier to do and once you are reaching this target, you will find it much easier to continue.

So to devise your own daily fitness program, work out how much weight you want to lose each week and decide how to do it. More often than not, training just 3 times a week for 30 minutes is enough to lose at least a pound a week when combined with the proper nutrition.

No excusesBeing strict in your daily routine is important too. Don’t just say “I’m going to exercise today”, instead set a specific time that you will do it. Tell yourself “I’m going to do 30 minutes of exercise from 18.30 until 19.00”. This is much easier to follow and you won’t run the risk of getting side tracked during the day.

Try and alternate when you train too. One day try and exercise in the morning and the next day in the evening. This confuses your body and it will burn more stored calories. If you train for the same time and at the same time each day, your body will soon get used to this and know what calories to burn. So mix things up as best you can and you’ll find the weight will drop off much more easily.

Use a combination of exercise machines. You can buy a manual treadmill (check out these reviews) quite affordably and use it at home. Most will fold away for easy storage. Or if you have the space, a home gym is an excellent addition to your workout plan. Or at the very least, some free weights will mean you can work your arms and shoulders every day and won’t take up any room in your home.

If you have never sat down and planned something before, you’ll be amazed how much easier it makes things in your life. A daily fitness program can be developed in minutes and when you follow it, you’ll reach your goals much more quickly than if you just do things randomly.

Great Exercises You Can Do At Home

These days our lives are so busy that it can be difficult to find time to go to the gym. There is very rarely time before work and after work you might not have the energy for it. So it’s no surprise that many people are exercising at home when they can squeeze in a workout. The great thing is that you don’t need expensive equipment to do it as body weight exercises alone can help you to burn a lot of calories.

Fitness revolutions like P90X and other home DVD courses are mostly based around bodyweight and plyometric exercise. Many people don’t realise that those alone are often enough to help lose pounds of fat. Anyone that has tried them will tell you the programs are hard and not as easy as people think. So just because no weights are used, it doesn’t mean they are easy to do. They are full on exercise workouts that can be done in a short space of time, so ideal to do at home.

P90X before and afterIf you are new to exercising then you might find P90X too difficult. If so you need to start with basic exercises and work your way up to getting fitter. So begin with basic sit ups and press ups. Do as many as you can, then rest and start again. Keep doing more each time you workout. Once you have been doing that for a while you can start some plyo exercises. This is basically a series of jumping on the spot in different ways. You can get an adjustable box for plyo exercises that you can jump up on. This is great for building strength in the legs.

Once you have been doing plyo for a while, you should be feeling a lot healthier and fitter. Now it’s time to get the DVD player into action and follow a program like P90X or similar. Just 20 minutes a day is what most workouts are and you’ll certainly feel the difference once you try it. They are also great because very little equipment is needed, so you only need to buy the DVD and a few basic pieces of gym equipment which are very cheap. They even show how to do the exercises without them, so don’t worry if you can’t afford them.

So don’t delay, the sooner you start to exercise at home, the sooner you’ll be that person you want to see in the mirror every single day!

Four Important Reasons To Start Eating Better And Exercising Now

Life is busy, and that has a way of impeding progress with personal issues, such as making health and exercise a priority. Unfortunately, too many people stay stuck in that quandary. Here are four very important benefits of good nutrition and regular exercise that should motivate you to take action now:

You Have More Energy

DietingWhen you watch what you eat, such as enjoying smaller, healthy meals throughout the day and snacking sensibly, you’re not going to experience a lot of fluctuations with your blood glucose levels. That means feeling energetic for the duration of the day, not “crashing” a few hours after meals. Add exercise to the mix and you’re hormones become even more stable, so you’re energy levels are steady and strong all day long.

You’ll Sleep Much Better

People who eat well tend to sleep much better, in particular, those who avoid foods loaded with sugar and chemicals. Have you ever noticed you have a harder time falling to sleep if you’ve had nothing but junk food all day? Exercise, too, will really help you catch more Zs, especially if you do it regularly. Hormones become balanced and you naturally use up energy, which makes you prime for snoozing by the end of your day.

Your Self-Esteem Rises Considerably

Eating well and working out contribute to a rise in self-esteem, and it’s no wonder: You’re doing two very important things to benefit your life in the short and long-term. How good do you feel about yourself when leaving the gym or after you’ve eaten a healthy salad for lunch? On the other hand, aren’t you down on yourself when you skip the workout and opt for a big, fat, juicy cheeseburger? Of course! Your mind knows how you’re treating your body and you’re going to feel guilty if you don’t do it right.

Managing Weight Is Less Challenging

Millions of people have trouble managing their weight and when you weigh too much, your mental and physical health suffer. This can be such a catch-22 that’s very difficult to overcome. Go a few days of eating right and engaging in moderate exercise, though, and you break that cycle of never having enough energy to try and manage weight. Even a pilates rebounder or chair will give you the gentle exercise you need at home. If you’re having a tough time controlling your weight, dedicate yourself to healthier eating and regular exercise; you may be doomed otherwise.

No more excuses for poor nutrition and idleness! There are far too many benefits to eating well and exercising, no matter how busy your life gets.
